Happy Thanksgiving, Y’all!!!

Today, the 43 was all cardio because my work-out was lifting.  I used this step again:

14″ double step (the Transfirmer)

I did a step-up with a knee lift and then jumped down, turned around and repeated with the opposite knee lift for one rep.  (I know the descriptions is probably complete gibberish – lucky thing I have another lovely demo!!!!)

After 43 reps my heart rate was definitely up – success!!!

Today I did Chalean Extreme Push Circuit 3 – mostly chest and back + some lower body.  I’m happy to be benching 25 pound dumbbells these days – I know it’s only 50 pounds total but the moves are super slow in this program so it makes it harder than speed lifting!!!

Gotta get in the kitchen and finish the meal prep – all 8 (maybe 9 – who knows) of the recipes I’m making are things I’ve never made before!!!  I’m most excited about the beer-brined turkey!!  I hope it turns out moist and tasty!

Poor Hunter – still in bed – he said all he wants to do is lay in bed.  Wish I could make him feel better!!!

Have a great Thanksgiving!!!   I hope everyone has someone special to share the day with!

NO!!!! Not the Flu!

Trying to be super productive today and still take care of Hunter!  Got the grocery store out of the way early and it wasn’t crowded at all!!! (I was shocked and happy!)

The 43 of the day was a crunch with feet stacked (heel-to-toe) – this one helps get into the lower abs, too!!!

Working Hard!

I did 43 with my right foot on top and then another 43 with my left foot on top.

and relax

After the crunches, I did a quick 4 miles (24:19) + 1 easy mile to complete my work-out.  Gotta keep moving for sure!

I’m super glad that we decided not to travel anywhere for Thanksgiving.  I’m afraid that Hunter might have the flu.   Poor boy – nasty cough, stuffy nose, headache and fever, not hungry…..Hopefully we can keep the germs contained just to him and not share!!!

Poor Boy!!!

Have a great Wednesday!  Stay well!!!

Home with Hunter

Sometimes when I pick the 43 for the day I think I’m a little off.  An exercise that is fine for a normal amount of reps often becomes painful by the time I hit 43!

Today I did a reverse lunge then I pulled the leg that lunged back up to a knee lift while I did a bicep curl to a shoulder press.  I held my knee up until I reversed the arms back to neutral and then lunged again.  Clear as mud?

For the demo, I only did 2 per side – don’t let that fool you!!!  After the video I did the real deal – 43 with my right  leg and then 43 with my left leg.  The real kicker was the fact that it ended up being 86 for my upper body (all with 10 pound dumbbells)!!!  Hmmm….should have thought about that a little more.  Oh, well – it’s good for me  to push myself!!!

The rest of today’s work-out was a run.  I did 9 miles in 55:47 (with 1.5 incline) then 2.5 more miles slower with a higher incline.  I actually really enjoy running on my treadmill – I have all sorts of games to entertain myself and increase my speed as I go.  I usually start at 7.5 (8:00 minutes/mile) and increase my speed from there.  I try to end with at least one 5:00 minute mile.

Hunter is home sick today.  :Weary:  At least he isn’t totally miserable – just running a fever and Tylenol has helped with that!!!  Hopefully a low-key day and he will be good as new!

This afternoon I’m subbing 4th grade – not sure what I was thinking taking a sub job the last day before  Thanksgiving break – Crazy!!!

Have a great Tuesday!!!

Early, Early, Early

The alarm was really rude this morning – it started shrieking blaring going off at 5:15!  Oh well – it is nice to already have all of my work-out done by 7:00 (and be totally ready for the day!!!).

The 43 was a bit of cardio today – the Heisman.  (I got this one from Insanity.)  It is a quick three step to the right and on the third step lift your left knee  and lower your right elbow, then reverse the move.  I counted a right and left move as one rep.  This is a fun way to get your heart rate up quickly!

(Yes, those are the same shorts I had on yesterday because I made the demo yesterday since I knew today was an early day!)  The actual 43 I did this morning at the butt-crack of dawn!

I also lifted again – it has been a week but I had to let the little strain from the 5 M100s get better!  I did Chalean Extreme Push Circuit 2 (the one with a lot of shoulder work!).  It felt good to lift again!

Today will be a long day at school – subbing in a SPED class today – but it shouldn’t be too hard because there is a student teacher.

Have a super Monday!!!

Up & Down, Up & Down

WooHoo – the 43 was another push-up variation today.  It has been awhile since I did some type of push-up for the 43 and definitely time to bring it back!

I did an inverted V push-up.  For some reason I have always thought this type is easier than a lot of other types – I almost feel it more in the back of my legs!!

Start with your butt pointing up to the sky.

Up Position

Bend your arms and lower your head as close to the floor as you can.

Down Position

Repeat until you reach your goal (or can’t do anymore!) – 43 for me.

I know that we haven’t celebrated Thanksgiving yet, but today I’m going to start hauling out the Christmas decorations.  I used to decorate for every holiday but now I only do Christmas and I might go a little overboard.  Every room has a tree (because doesn’t everyone put a tree in every room of the house?): 3 – 6 foot trees, 2 – 7 foot trees, 1 – 9 foot tree, 3 – 4 foot trees, and a handful of the little table-top trees.  Plus all the other stuff – all of which is in the storage room in the basement.  I’m guessing that I will make more than 100 trips up and down the stairs today  – lugging stuff on pretty much all of them. (That can count as some type of work-out, right?)

When do you decorate for Christmas?  Do you have a theme or just random?

Happy Sunday!!
