Jumping, Kicking, Squatting all Night Long

Today for my 43, I did a plank with some extra stability work.  I started in elbow plank, pulled my right knee into my chest then extended my right leg into a  leg raise.  Then, I did the same thing with my left leg.  I counted a right leg and left leg move as 1 rep.

I should have timed my plank!!!  This took awhile to complete since it was 43 knee pulls/leg raises per side!

I did Insanity Asylum – Vertical Plyo before heading to the swim beach to teach Boot Camp.  I only have a few days left of Insanity – WooHoo!!!  Today I actually enjoyed the plyo workout more than I have other days – maybe because I knew it was my last time doing it for awhile!!

Boot Camp at the beach always makes me happy – the lake is peaceful early in the mornings.  Today we did Tabata boot camp and it was so much harder in the sand than it was yesterday morning in the garage!!  The sand gave us some bonus toning work!!  Plus, with all of the jumping and kicking – I pretty much took a shower in sand!!!  Good Times!!

 Screen shot 2013-06-18 at 8.35.39 AMLately, every time I wake up during the night (it’s always a lot of times!!!) – I’ve been dreaming about jumping and kicking and squatting.  Screen shot 2013-06-18 at 8.34.10 AMIt’s not always me that’s jumping – sometimes I’m watching people (or maybe animals) jump – but there is always action and movement in the form of jumping and bouncing!!!Screen shot 2013-06-18 at 8.37.33 AMAll night long – jump, squat, kick…..I don’t know if it’s because I go to bed thinking about the next day’s boot camp or Insanity workout or even just trying to decide what my 43 will be or what the deal is but I’m ready for some different themed dreams!!  Screen shot 2013-06-18 at 8.38.49 AMSometimes I feel like I might be a little  obsessed with all things fitness related – that  doesn’t mean I want to dream about it every night!!!Screen shot 2013-06-18 at 8.35.04 AMSee – everyone’s jumping and moving – just like in my dreams!!!!Screen shot 2013-06-18 at 8.39.54 AMAnd, everyone is running through the list of proper form and technique – over and over.  I guess if this little guy is doing it then it isn’t that bad!!Screen shot 2013-06-18 at 8.35.25 AMBut all the nighttime jumping is wearing me out!!!  I need a night where I dream about Screen shot 2013-06-18 at 8.55.28 AMand maybe if I dream hard enough I will wake up and find myself actually relaxing in this gorgeous setting instead of jumping and kicking and squatting and doing burpees!!!!!

And the best part of these dreams?  Along with jumping there is music from my new workout craze – Zumba!!!

Yep – I hear that song a lot in my dreams – while jumping!!!!

Anyone else have dreams where you wake up exhausted from all the action in the dream?

Texas Longhorns Win the Alamo Bowl!!!!

Hook ’em Horns!!!!  Way to end the year with a big win!

The 43 today was another combo move – you know I love combos!!!  It was a power fly.  I started on my back and then lifted my hips (I kept my hips up the entire time it took to complete the 43).  Each time I did a fly with my arms, I did a knee pull to my chest (alternating my knees).  I counted a right knee pull and a left knee pull as one rep so I actually did 86 chest flys!!!  Good thing I stuck with 10 pound dumbbells!!!

I had to keep giving myself a little pep talk – I said at 23 I would take a short break but I didn’t!!  I said 33 would be the short rest – NO!!!  I made all 43 (86) without taking a break!!!

Today was day 5 of the 12 Days of Fitness – added in 5 frog crunches!

I am totally loving Hunter’s new punching bag/speed bag combo!!  I have decided it is a great substitute for me while I can’t run – I get a great cardio work-out with it and my arms are like jello after I’m done!!!  A total win!!!

Today I did 50 right jabs, 50 left jabs, 500 right-left punches  x 5 sets.  I didn’t take any breaks and it took 19 minutes.  Total of 3000 punches – 1500 with each arm and my arms are still shaking!!!  I also worked on the speed bag for about 2.5 minutes – I still don’t have great timing – hopefully it will get better!  I love the way I feel my triceps working when I hit the speed bag.    Who knows – maybe I will have a new career soon!

It could be fun!  I wonder if the boys would come watch or be embarrassed?  Hmmm…..

Hunter has added another Rubik Cube to his collection – the 2 x 2 cube.  I didn’t even know there was such a thing until recently!!!  This one came yesterday afternoon in the mail (I had ordered these specialty ones and they were a bit late for Christmas – oh, well – extended Christmas for Hunter!!!)

Last night it was great to watch the Longhorns win!  They haven’t played up to their potential the last year or two – hopefully Mac Brown is right and 2013 will be their year!!!

Guess I should get busy – Chris has  almost finished cleaning the whole house while I’ve been sitting here – oops!!!
