Happy Monday!!!!

The 43 today was hard for me!!!  I had to modify it in order to  finish all 43 – but we all know that making a modification is better than sacrificing form!!!

The move – a push-up with a clap.  (Now do you feel my pain?!)  The push-up alone – great!  Add in the clap – uh, what???  I did the first 13 on my toes and the next 30 on my knees.  Still got to 43 and by dropping to my knees I was still able to perform a full push-up  so I still consider it a success!!

Special guest for the video:

Thanks, Chris!!!  (BTW – did you notice how many he did? 9!!!  + 1 more after the video)  He said, “No way am I doing 43!!!”  Umm…that’s cause you’re 44 – get busy!!!!  I think he left it at 10!!!  10 is much better than 0!!!

Today was another day of fun with Les Mills Combat!!!  I did the Combat 30 work-out again.  I’m really enjoying it now that I have done it a few times and know all the moves!!

After Combat I did something that I don’t do nearly enough of – a stretching DVD!!!  I did the Turbo Fire Stretch and it felt good.  I have a hard time making myself take the time to really stretch very often – I know I need it!!  Gotta work on doing that much more frequently!!

Even cats need a good stretch!!!

More time stretching – on the list!!!

I saw this yesterday and thought it was appropriate (at least in my world)!!!

Gotta get ready to head to the library (might be my last full day!!!).  Jordan will be home – still sick!  Hopefully he will be much better when he gets up today – I’m sure the fact that he has had these

in the room with him will make a huge difference!!!  (or not – but it can’t hurt, right?)

Happy Monday!

Jordan, You Rock!!!

Today I did something a little different (for me) with the daily 43.  I used this machine:

unsightly piece of equipment

This is the Weider Platinum XP 800 by Cross Bow.  It is similar to a Bow-Flex (I think).  We have had it for years and today is the first time I have used it (I prefer dumbbells and free weights).  Chris uses it occasionally – I think.

Anyway, I did leg extensions with this today.  I set the weight/resistance to 50 and my quads were screaming by the time I had done the first 10.  By the time I reached 43 I wasn’t sure I could stand up (but clearly I made it!!!).

Start (smile - you can do this!!)

I’m not sure that I will be using this machine often again – kind of a pain to get set up!

I also did a little Turbo Fire today – Fire 30.  It is a challenge for me to do these work-outs and keep them low (no) impact.  The good news is, I really focus on my punches and form.  I also try to get lower in my stances and squeeze my abs harder.

After a little cardio I decided to try my plank (with arms fully extended) hold again – 3:30!!!!  That is my best yet!!!

The past week or two I have noticed that my website has been running VERY SLOWLY.  I couldn’t figure out why or how to fix it.  Last night I was messing around with it and Jordan came walking by.  I asked him what he thought.  He looked at some of the pages and decided that it was my newest page (Daily 43) that was causing the problem.  I had set it up as one long post and it probably had 70  or more videos on it.  (At this point I’m pretty sure Jordan decided that I was totally incompetent on all things computer related.)  Anyway, I deleted all of the videos and just linked the exercise to the corresponding video (per Jordan).  I think we (by we I mean Jordan) solved the problem!!!

Funny that 14-year old boys are so smart!!!  See, all that time spent on his computer has totally paid off!!!  Thank you, Jordan!!!

Tonight we are going to a Christmas Eve Eve party at some friends.  This is a yearly tradition of theirs and always a good time!!

Happy Sunday!

Who Needs Weights? I Have Jordan!!!

My 43 today required a partner – thanks, Jordan!!!  I did 43 partner rows.  One person gets in push-up position and just stays still (Jordan).  The other person  (me) is in a partial squat and holds onto their partner’s ankles and then does rows by pulling their partner’s legs up and squeezing their shoulder blades together!

[youtuber youtube=’http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlEo60JbcAg’]

I did these much faster than I usually do rows because the boy is heavy!!!  5’8″  and 150 pounds.  I’m not sure why I thought it was a good idea to have Jordan as my partner (should have asked one of the kindergarten kids at school)!!!  (It was hard for him to keep his legs straight but I don’t think it really mattered as far as the rowing goes.)

After the 43 I did Chalean Extreme Push Circuit 3.  One more time through the Push Circuit and I will move on to Lean Circuit!!  I also did a quick ab work-out – Turbo Fire Abs 10.

The boys and I are planning to hang out and chill today – still trying to get Hunter to 100% after his bout with the flu and it is drill week-end for Chris!!

Looking forward to the big game tonight – Texas vs KSU!!!

Hook ’em Horns!!!
