What a fun day!!! This was actually my first Longhorn football game to attend in person – funny that it was in Kansas!! SO MUCH FUN!!! (even the cold didn’t bother me and those of you who know me know that’s saying a lot!!!)
Texas got off to a great start and all the Jayhawk fans around us were NOT happy. The comments ranged from:
“Wait till basketball season”
“Don’t make me call Bill Snyder”
“Just wait till you play KSU”
“F….refs – how much is Texas paying you”
“Quit letting Mack Brown blow his whistle, refs!”
and many more funny little things
It was awesome!!! After Texas scored (less than 5 minutes into the game) -it was shaping up to be a good game for Texas and not so great for Kansas.
However, Kansas scored 2 touchdowns before the half to take the lead into the 2nd half. Texas came out strong in the 3rd quarter but couldn’t make anything happen. They finally scored almost 6 minutes into the 4th quarter. But then Kansas scored again – just a field-goal but still enough to take the lead with just over 2 minutes to go. And then….this happened
Most of the people around us were still fairly nice fans -however 2 of the men were NASTY – somehow it was my fault that KU lost and that Texas cheats! Good thing Chris was there or I might have been a little nervous about Mr. Psycho! Whatever!!! Always gotta have some crazy fans!
Fun way to spend a Saturday with my husband and a bunch of crazy, excited KU people!!!
Chris and I spent some time out on the water this afternoon (the boys opted out). So peaceful!!! Saw our neighbor out enjoying the day:
Chris did a great job doing all of the hard parts – driving the boat onto the trailer all the other stuff that goes along with this sort of thing. I just sort-of hung out and watched the show!
After we (and by we, I mean Chris) successfully got the boat onto the trailer
we took it home and convinced the boys that it would be fun to help clean the boat. Chris pressured washed the bottom (it was NASTY – green and slimy) and we (mostly the boys) cleaned out the inside.
A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon – on the water and with my family!!
Now time to order the pizza and have some wine and watch the Longhorns play some football!!!
Friday night in the Turner home!! A pot of taco soup on the stove and a cosmo for me!! (in my favorite martini glass)
Chris makes an awesome cosmo. It is called an “Educated Cosmopolitan” and the first time I had one was when we were on a trip to Biloxi, MS in about 2003. The waiter recommended it for me (my first cosmo/martini ever) and I’ve been a total fan since!!!
